LO1 Be able to create a proposal with sample materials for an original media product to a client brief

My finished product would be a complete professional promotional video of Doncaster UTC building and it’s aspects, I hope this would help advertise the college and draw future students to apply. 

Target Audience

For this my target audience is 16-18 year old of both males and females. My product will target all ethnicity backgrounds  and all racial backgrounds for this college is for all races and religious students. Through this college there is products and equipment provided for every students meaning anyone can attend no matter their financial situations this then  means that my product targets everyone. The psychographics of this promotional video would be explorers, succeeders and mainstreamers. 

Purpose

The purpose of me creating this promotional video for Doncaster UTC is to help promote the college and to show potential students that this college is highly different to others and will supply them with the best qualifications that will help them further in life. This video will show the teachers, classrooms, study areas and the machines that are available to be used in lessons. This promotional video also would inform the possible future students on the college and how this particular college operates with the education of their students. This video will be targeting the media industry of the college to specifically show the aspects and opportunities of the media course. 

Content

The content for my product would mainly be camera work with a some audio use, being upbeat backing music. The affect of doing this would make the audience feel excited and enjoy the atmosphere that is created through the video. There will be dolly shots, angled shots, aerial shots and many more. This audio-visuals product would have a lot of mise-en-scene included in it for there would be the setting being the college, inside and outside. Also classrooms and gather court area the college provides, canteens, seating areas, balcony for the post 16 students and the classrooms showing all the different floors of the college and the facilities contained. Throughout this there will be many different types of camera shot and angles for example there is aerial shots, close ups, long shots, dolly shots, pan shots and 3/4 shots. With the camera shots/angles there will also be different types of transitions for example there would be wipes, fades, dissolve transition and graphic match. I will also be including some interviews with some employers to show that the college has connections with real employers. To make my promotional video different compared to the existing videos I will be using the drone to get some shots of the building showing the college to be interesting and showing that it adventures far beyond just the building. Throughout the video I will be showing student using equipment and exploring them, to not show the stereotypical area of males being more technical and having more of an understanding of technology for it is not a feminine thing for them to do. I will discard this factor through showing both males and females using the equipment that the college provide for example the drone, tripods, cameras, lights, jib, DSLRs, 4K cameras, clogging kit, light boxes, zoom microphone, headphones, podcasting kit and also the steady cams. This will then create the effect that Doncaster UTC is a adventurous, outgoing and equipped college for all. From showing the equipment on the video it will allow future students and parents establish the idea that this college is great and perfect for students that like technology and are interesting in it. This then means that their interested would be peaked and they would be excited to learn and attend the college to use the equipment, meaning the college would then get the best of the best students attending the college that are interested in learning. 

Competitors

Competitors for this would be other college and schools that do 6th forms for example, Hall cross academy, Doncaster college, John Leggott College and many others. However, I have more than just other colleges as competition for there are other promotional video creators that the college could chose because of this it means that I have to do more than what the other editors would do and make myself stand out more. From identifying the threats and competition it means that then the college can then take advice and take the content analysis for advantage. 

Goal

I aim to get feed back from the company being Doncaster UTC and I also hope to develop the skills of filming and creating the different types of videos for businesses. I also improve the skills of communication and editing. I aim to have better skills and inteligence on the technology that has been used to create promotional videos.  

Resources and personnel

The resources and personnel for promotional videos are copyright person, director, producer, planner, editor, camera operator, storyboard artist, script writer, costume designer and a make up artist. The equipment that I would need would be a camera to film different camera angles, computers to edit the footage into the video by using different types of software, microphones so if there is any interviews done then the audio would be clear and easy to hear, drones for the aerial shots. Editing software

To edit my footage I will be using software such as Adobe Premier Pro for this software is used for graphic design and editing footage for visuals, audios for higher quality footage and product creations.  

Distribution

The distribution and marketing methods I would be using to promote my product would be through the Doncaster UTC website and the Doncaster UTC social media pages on the video can promote the college. This will be affective for it will be shown to my target audience, being the people that access the colleges social media platforms, YouTube and their website. From using YouTube as a distribution method it allows the audience to access this video easily and affectively and also allows them to share the video and save it, it is also accessible on all devices with god quality video footage. It also would make money for the college because if there is a lot of views than the college will gain money from the views. I will use the UTC FaceBook page to promote the video with the link to YouTube so then the video will get more views and it will be easy to access. I will also use the Post 16s and Doncaster UTC page to promote the video because then the younger audience being the potential students could access the video. This is useful for then the students can see the video and e bale to like, comment and share the instagram post, it also means that the actual potential students can then access the video and have the sense that the college is up to date with the most used apps and social media. I would also use Doncaster UTC website page for then anyone with internet can the access the website and view the video, it also would be appropriate for the college to have their promotional video they website page. This also would be a good idea for then the video would be related to the website and people that may not have social media or are in the FaceBook group would then seethe video and know it exists. 

Synergy

To use synergy with the promotion of the college there would have to be cross media advertising meaning on the video there would be footage of the colleges logo and destination. From doing this it then makes it so that the colleges down by the community.
